A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
